RATO AO SOL is a Luso-Spanish platform for the emerging arts, founded by curators Francisca Portugal and Whataboutvic in 2022.
Having met in Lisbon in 2021, the pair’s objective is to foster an international friendship-based network between Spain, Portugal and beyond. Through intimate interviews and collaborations, RATO AO SOL aims to provide a space for artists and curators to speak extensively about their practices.

5 MINUTE RETROSPECTIVE
Long format interviews where artists tell us about their whole practice in 10 questions.
I NEED MORE INFO ON THAT
Shorter but just-as-important interviews focused on a specific piece of art.
BEHIND THE STAGE
Interviews to curators about their backstage experiences.
DO IT YOURSELF
Self-portraits by artists, accompanied by a little analytic text by us.

Travel logs, registers of visits or diary entries about the art world.
